If yous have a dual install involving FSX boxed-edition and FSX:Steam-Edition, delight employ the FSE FSUIPC client . Information technology has been reported that the SimConnect client may only function with the first FSX installation yous have on your PC, and may fail to connect to the 2nd install.

The SimConnect client has some difficulty connecting directly with Prepar3D v4. A workaround is discussed on the FSEconomy forums ( link ), and future releases of Prepar3D v4 may right this issue.

Microsoft Flight Simulator (MSFS)

The SimConnect client should function properly with MSFS. If you have previous versions of FSX or P3D, y'all may demand to use the FSE FSUIPC customer with ane simulator and this Simconenct client with the other.

Annotation FOR MSFS USERS: In that location is a known-issue with updating the SimConnect client. When FSE publishes a client update, your client volition prompt you to update. When y'all do, the client will lose connexion to the MSFS simulator. To remedy this, merely change one of the settings to something else, close the client application, re-open up the client, and alter the setting dorsum to what it was. For example, alter the Port# to 123, and then change information technology dorsum to 500. Or, change the "Remote" to "Local", so change information technology back.

NOTE: Ensure your simulator is closed while you install the SimConnect application and the FSE SimConnect Customer.

1. Install SimConnect or verify your estimator already has a compatible version of SimConnect.

The FSE SimConnect Client requires Microsoft SimConenct v10.0.61242.0. (The FSX SP1 version) You might already accept this version of SimConnect installed if y'all have used SimConnect-compatible simulators such every bit FSX or P3D. You might also have older or newer versions of SimConnect installed. That's ok: y'all can accept multiple versions of SimConnect installed all at the aforementioned time.

Y'all can tell if you have this version of SimConnect installed by going to your Windows Install/Uninstall area, or "Apps and Features" in Win10, and search for SimConnect.

4. Configure your client - Simulator Settings

Click the FILE > CONFIG menu item once again, and select the Simulator tab. Depending on which flying sim you are using, set the configuration equally per the below images:

5. Verify everything works

Navigating the Client Menus

The SimConnect client has two menu items:

  • File

    • Config

        • Account

          • This is where you enter your FSE Game World username and password

        • Simulator

          • This is where y'all will configure your customer to run on the same computer as your simulator, or a second computer on the same network. (Annotation: MSFS requires a "remote computer setting", even when installed on the same reckoner)

        • Settings

        • You can elect to prove a dialog when FSE has finished recording your completed flight (recommended)

      • Near

        • Meet the version number of your customer software

  • Activeness

      • Start Flying

        • This is your well-nigh used button while using FSE. Ensure you click this carte du jour item before each and every takeoff. Read the "Starting a Flight" are below for more than details.

      • Cancel Flight

        • If, at whatsoever time during a flight (including before you've taken off), you need to abolish the flight and accept FSE place everything back at your point of origin, you can use the Abolish Flight menu detail.

      • Request Aircraft

        • This carte item sends your "Pigment" data to the FSE Staff. Use this menu item if y'all have made a repaint, or downloaded a repaint, that does not currently work in FSE. Once approved by the staff, y'all will exist able to apply this repaint.

Note: in FSX and P3d, you can optionally first your flight from inside the simulator past selecting Add-ONS > FS ECONOMY > First FLIGHT from the sim menu. This is peachy for using total-screen way, or for non needing to minimize your FSX application to find the client.

Navigating the Client Tabs

The SimConnect client has 2 Tab items:

  • Information

    • The information tab contains four principal areas. When you showtime commencement the client, all three areas volition be blank. When yous select an aircraft and a location inside the simulator, the client'due south Data tab will update to show you what aircraft you have loaded within the sim, and what'southward available at that location within the FSE Game World.

      • Aircraft Information

        • This department of the Data tab displays ii lines well-nigh the shipping that you have loaded inside your simulator. The first line volition tell yous what aircraft "livery" you are currently using and an icon will signal if that aircraft is "livery" is bachelor within the FSE Game Globe. The second line will tell you if that particular aircraft blazon, associated with that "livery", is located at the airport (within the FSE Game) that you are at within the simulator.

        • EXAMPLE: In the paradigm above, the FSE User has an shipping loaded inside their simulator with a "livery" that matches the list of aliases for the aircraft type Cessna 172. The FSE user is also the the Homer airport in Homer, Alaska; withal, at that place is no Cessna 172 shipping currently located at the Homer Airport in the FSE Game World

      • Equip Installed

      • This department lists the avionics that are installed on the FSE Aircraft. Annotation: If the aircraft you take rented in the FSE Game World does not take a particular piece of equipment installed, the client will "neglect" that equipment in the simulator.

      • Alternative Aircraft

        • This section of the Information tab will list all other aircraft that are available at the airport (inside the FSE Game Globe) that you lot are at within the simulator.

        • EXAMPLE: In the image above, there are several other shipping available at the Homer Drome.

      • Culling Airports

        • This section of the Information tab volition list whatever nearby airports that too contain the same aircraft type that you have selected within the simulator.

        • Example: In the image to a higher place, there are several Cessna 172s available at nearby airports: one at 5BL, and four others at PASO.

  • Flight

    • The flight tab is blank while you lot are non en-road. One time yous click on "Start Flight", the flight tab volition update with information about your selected aircraft and the consignment(s) y'all have on lath the plane. It's always recommended to check this tab afterward you lot hit "Start Flight", but before yous take off flying to make sure that the passengers and cargo that you expect to be on board are actually on lath. You tin also expect at this tab at anytime during your flight to get a real-time look at how much rental fees you take accumulated, what your fuel price will be when y'all land (if you lot rented "dry"), and how much fourth dimension you take left on your rental timer.

After you've used the FSE website to setup your flight by renting an aircraft, fueling the aircraft if necessary, and selecting the assignments you lot are going to fly, it is time to switch over to the flight simulator and get set for your flight. Brand sure that you are at the same aerodrome and have the same aircraft blazon in your flying simulator that you accept selected on the FSE website.

One time your simulator is ready, you need to click "Offset Flight" before FSE will recognize that you lot are ready to become.

- Open the FSE client and select ACTION > START Flight from the menu.

- Optional for FSX/P3D users: select ADD-ONS > FS ECONOMY > Starting time FLIGHT from the FSX/P3D bill of fare.

At this point, FSE volition adjust your fuel load to match what is in that aeroplane co-ordinate to the FSE Game Earth database, and your payload weight will be added to your aircraft. Now you lot're fix to fly - the client should display your shipping registration as well equally begin the inaugural on your rental time.

Optional : The SimConnect client loads your payload weight into your simulator, simply it averages the entire load across all of your simulator's "load points" (seats and cargo areas). You lot can take this opportunity to arrange your cargo weight and balance in the simulator's AIRCRAFT > FUEL AND PAYLOAD menu to match your selected assignments. For instance, if you lot are carrying 2 passengers and 51Kg of Mail, you would set 77kg into 3 of the seats (yourself, and the 2 passengers), and 51Kg into another seat or the cargo area. Note: All humans weigh 77Kg (170lbs) in FSE, including yous the airplane pilot. Yous MUST Not suit your fuel load in your plane, equally the client will do that for you lot automatically. Adjusting your payload positions is completely optional, merely in a real plane y'all would demand to be conscience of your weight and residual for optimum flying parameters... you can practice that realism within the simulator likewise.

Now that you've hit "Beginning Flight", the game website assumes that you are en-road. Fifty-fifty though you may not have began your taxi or take off, your rental timer has began information technology's countdown and the game website will list your aeroplane and all of your selected jobs as "en-route". If yous are paying for rent at an hourly charge per unit, you are now existence charged. You are now free to fly to any aerodrome you choose. Most likely, you will wing to the destination of your cargo or passengers, but information technology's also possible that yous will fly to some other airport to pick up more assignments; or, mayhap yous need to brand a fuel stop or but take a intermission on a long cross-country flying.

The client no longer needs to communicate with the game server until you go far at your destination, and so if you need to disconnect from the internet you lot may.

When yous get in at your intended drome, you lot signify to the client that you are complete by coming to a stop and setting your parking brake. (If yous previously asunder from the internet, reconnect now!) Information technology does not matter where you come up to a terminate - you can finish right on the runway, or leave the runway, or taxi all the style to parking. The "level of realism" that you lot use is up to you. At this betoken, the customer will pop upwardly a message that it is sending the results of your flying to the server. Once the popular-upwardly indicates that it is complete, you lot are done with your flight! The game website no longer considers y'all to be "en-road", your rental timer stops, and you are gratis to disconnect from the Internet over again if you lot demand to.

Note: parking near a fuel bowser/refuel point in the simulator can crusade your shipping to automatically refuel, which will invalidate your flight. NEVER park near a fuel bespeak!

From here, you can go back to the FSE Game World website and see what your earnings were for that flight, check your logbook to make sure everything appears to have logged correctly, and maybe setup your shipping and assignments for your next flight. If, when yous landed, you did not have whatsoever jobs on board, or all of your jobs on board have at present reached their final destination, your shipping will no longer be rented. If you plan on using information technology again right away, you may want to immediately get to the "Airport" web folio and re-hire it before someone else does. All the same, if you still have assignments selected in your "My Flying" page, your aircraft will notwithstanding be rented. You are non existence charged rent because you are non "en-route", but you are potentially blocking another player from using the aircraft. This is fine if you are getting ready to apply it again.

    • Make sure you country earlier the rental time counter reaches zero or your flight will exist canceled. You do not need to land at your last destination -- simply ending your flight (see: Ending a Flying instructions) and restarting your flight will start your rental time over.

    • Once yous select "Kickoff Flight", make sure yous see your assignment(southward) in the Flight tab. Information technology volition only show assignments that are on-board your shipping. If you have selected assignments, and they do not appear in the flight tab, and then they did not get onto your airplane and you volition not become paid if y'all take off without them. Some reasons that an assignment might non get on-board: information technology exceeds the aircraft's MTOW, you do not take plenty seats (if your assignment is passengers), or yous are not parting from the same drome where the consignment is located.

    • FSE flights are limited to 16x time compression. The client monitors this and will immediately cancel your flight if you exceed 16x.

    • The procedure to end a flight volition ordinarily take just a few seconds but on rare occasions, it may concluding much longer. DO Non shut the FSE program until it says the flight has been logged. Fifty-fifty if the FSE customer appears to exist not responding, just leave it. It may even take hours but if you lot close information technology before logging is complete, you will lose credit for that flight. If y'all are unable to look, you should view the "My Flying" page on the game website, and click the "Cancel Flight" push. This will reset your aircraft and all assignments back to their original configuration at the airport you lot took off from, only may be better than the potential errors you might see from whatever caused the stop-flight process to hang.

    • If y'all are in a helicopter or float aeroplane, your aircraft probably does non have a parking brake enabled by default. You tin edit your aircraft's configuration file (aircraft.cfg) to add a parking brake, fifty-fifty during "mid-flight". (many people land and find that they have no parking brake, and need to make this aligning before they tin can get credit for their flight). Find the following two lines and suit them to read equally follows. Once you make this aligning, you can but reload your aircraft (CTRL+SHFT+R by default, or go into your shipping menu and select the same aircraft you are in).

parking_brake = 1

toe_brakes_scale = 0.75
